I am suppose to see a new dr monday. first of all I don't have the $30 barely and then they call me and tell me I will have to pay $50!! errrrrrrr they want a drug screen! geesh while I do understand since it is a pain clinic but I am not going for the drugs! I want help for my stupid back! I told them if insurance would pay for drug screen just send it out and I would get a script later after it comes back. geesh what is the issue here? so they can make more money?

Why did you cancel the appt? A drug screen is fairly routine for pain management clinics. In fact, you will get them periodically throughout treatment.

Are you for sure cancelling or just postponing?

okie I don't have the money to go. they refused to send out the drug screen that my insurance would pay for. said they had to do it right then. the thing is I am not seeking their drugs. I want something done for my back

mypet I guess they give you pain meds and monitor. I really don't know.

is that the only pain clinic you have available to you? i had to try a couple before i found one that i liked.

the pain clinic i go to not only provides drugs, but they also give injections and blocks for the pain, have phsycial therapy and acupuncture. my pain doc also got me a TENS unit which helps greatly.

My husband loves the TENS unit they gave me. I can't stand the feeling. Ugh...just thinking about it. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

It seems any medical entity is making sure they get their money up front because so many people skip out without making any kind of payment or just enough to get SOME treatment.

The insurance companies are in cahoots with the medical industry. They're both in it for the money and the money only! What results is a push-pull and the people that need medical treatment can't get it! I can't get my teeth even STARTED unless I come up with $2000! Where am I supposed to get that kind of money??? So... here I sit with part of a mouthful of rotten teeth and the rest are missing!

I hear Michael Moore is going after the insurance companies in his next movie. I haven't liked anything he's done so far, but now I'm saying "GO GET 'EM, MICHAEL!!!!!!"

ok...I have been seeing a different dr for over 2 yrs and had all those injections physical therapy and nothing worked.

tomi I hear ya. most around here you pay up front. I have asked time and again what the heck are people to do when really sick and have no money. as for your teeth. if you can make it to Ga I can take you to a place that you can get all your teeth done the same day for a whole lot less money. you have medicare right? does it not cover dental?
