This could drive a person to suicide.

I now spend my nights sleeping in a tub of hot water.

I heard it's not that rare. Anyone care to share . . . or even just advise?

Every night I climb the walls. I've told my doctors I sometimes think of doing anything to escape this . . . anything.

Perhaps resolving the anemia will get rid of the RLS. They think I have a G. I. lesion that is bleeding.

I live with chronic anemia, and yes when it gets really bad, I get RLS. But it goes away with treatment.

I have known of many people feeling relief from RLS with topical and/or oral magnesium.

However, with an underlying anemia, it's also critical to identify the cause of anemia and to correct any deficiency.

I am sorry you are having such a terrible time . I know how bad it can get trying to resist leg movement and then not succeeding.

That bleeding and hernia -- wow you have a lot to deal with.

I take magnesium every day for Restless legs. It seems to work for me. I would recommend the more absorbable type of magnesium citrate as well as magnesium oil spray that you rub into your legs.

I hope that helps you

i'm glad they have found the bleeding and hope they can get to the bottom of it and treat it. I googled and found gerd is a possible cause. I have had that for 16 years but never knew it could cause what you have. good luck dear rose!

I understand the tiredness. I can't function. I try to manage to do the most important but this summer I'm probably not even going to remember.

Anyway good they are treating the cause of your issues. You'll feel better in a couple months.
Thanks for this!

Thanks so much, everyone. Yeah, I had never heard if this before, myself. After 48 hours of no sleep, I took a taxi to the psych hospital, thinking I had developed some weird new anxiety disorder. Thay discovered the anemia and said. "Your problem is not psychiatric, but is neurological." Dopamine-agonist they prescribed didn't help. So mainly I'm depending on the iron, steak . . . and distraction. I fight RLS with competing stimuli. From what I read, I'm not the first person to think along those lines. When my mind is real interested in sonething, the RLS is not a problem.

Thanks, again, all . . . and be well.
