Anyone share this with me?

It is active right now and I'm feeling sick, in pain, and discouraged.

Mine is not caused from alcohol as I don't drink.

I had pancreatitis attacks for many years and a year ago I had a huge surgery to remove part of the pancreas and I hoped that would mean no more pancreatitis.

But here it is again. Apparently this means I have a lousy pancreas and can expect this to happen, it's a part of my life.

Echoes, that doesn't sound like any fun at all!

But according to the doctors you shouldn't be in pain anymore (like my stepmother always said, "What do They know?") Hope this episode passes quickly.

Thanks Perna chronic pancreatitis

Another good site. I have many bookmarked since I was diagnosed and went through exhaustive testing for cancer.
Luckily there was no cancer.

The surgery to remove the head of the pancreas which was blocked works for many but hasn't for me.

She said as long as I have a pancreas it can become inflamed. Makes sense but I didn't realize it. I had been feeling just like I used to when I was sick with it and I thought "It can't be!" but it can after all.

I haven't been using Creon (enzymes) but will begin those now.

This week I have been scoped and CAT scanned (no cat found.. hehe) and will have (another) MRCP next.

The treatment is to not eat for a few days. I feel better if I don't eat so that's not hard to do.

I just thought this was behind me.

((( ECHOES )))

I hope you feel better soon. I know how hard it is to accept (get stuck with) a chronic illness.

I'll keep you in my thoughts. chronic pancreatitis

I'm so sorry you are in flare. chronic pancreatitis My Mom has pacreatitis and I know from watching her that it's absolutely no fun.

Can you drink high protein Ensure? It helps Mom. Also, she is able to eat baby food pears.

Thanks Jan chronic pancreatitis

Right now I'm just on liquids. If I eat I hurt more. I am looking for a drink that I can make without the sugar that is in ensure, though I like the ensure.

I think I might try the baby foods sometime. It sounds like it would be good to have those on hand.

I hope your mom feels better soon.

Someone i know has that and he takes pain meds everyday and is finally on disability. He will have it the rest of his life. He is thinking about getting the pain blocker surgery. Your supposed to have a pain specialist. You will unfortunatly have it the rest of your life. You already tryed the one surgery which the person i know won't get it because his doctors say it usually does not work. Now i guess you have to find ways to manage the pain.
