I’m not feeling good. My stomach hurts and I have cramps, I have heartburn, I’ve missed a period. I’ve been lying on my couch for 3 days. I have had a history of somatic complaints before. I stopped going to the doctor for my complaints and I’ve just been letting the symptoms run there course. That’s been going on for 3 years. I’m actually pretty skeptical now when I have physical symptoms. I’m quick to dismiss them as anxiety and in my head. These new batch of symptoms seem more intense and I’m having issues with functioning at work. I set up an appointment with a gynecologist for the first time. How do I know if this is legit or just my somatic symptoms acting up? I’m worried my mental health is getting worse. I’ve been stable for over 3.5 years. Why would I regress for no reason? Could something medical be going on? I seem to have a lot of symptoms of an ovarian cyst, or ovarian cancer.
I’m mainly worried that my mental health is getting bad again.

Calming your fears is reason enough to go to the doctor, it would seem to me. So I'm glad you made the appointment. Perhaps it is simply your anxiety that is causing you to feel as though your mental health may be deteriorating. Anxiety will most certainly do that in my experience. Hope everything turns out well for you...

It seems like it was just my anxiety. I see my psych doctor on Monday. Hopefully he can help.
