A couple of months ago i began getting stiffness and pain in my left kness that not long after i started waking up with numb, very weak and somewhat painful fingers. Now my fingers are at extreme pain all day and wrists. I have been chronically fatigued for a year now. I don't know why i have been so tired and now i don't know why i hurt so much. sometimes i wake up felling like i got hit by a bus, i am in pain all over. the doctor thought it was carpol tunnel and a sprained knee so she gave me braces for my hands for bedtime but they don't work. i went and got a test done and i will be going in for a emg. I also saw a physical therapist and he has no idea whats wrong with me because my blood tests came back good but he said their are more tests i can take. the pain was staying the same for a while but now i can barely use them and when i do it is even more painul. does anyone know what this could be? Fybromialgia? arthirtis. I am only 20, but this is getting serious. i need my hands. i don't want to be in a wheelchair by the time i am 25 or something from the pain getting so progressively worse. could it be MS. please let me know if you have had this same problem or if you know what it could be. thank you

Hi Star,

I have Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia. While that will explain your fatigue, I don't think that is the reason for your pain in your hands and wrists. The EMG will give you a lot of information.

Has anyone ran blood tests on you to see if your immune system is in flare? Arthritis or nueropathy can hurt like you're describing, but nueropathy is my guess. It's a condition that makes your hands, feet, etc hurt very much. Lyrica is a wonderful medicine for it. It takes the pain away.

To be honest, I can't take it because I can't stay awake because I take so many other meds, but at least I know it's there if I can't take the pain any more.

Please let us know what you find out and try to take it easy right now.

Hugs,

Jan

Ask your doctor about Raynaud's Diease. It can cause severe pain in your hands and feet. It has to do with attacking the small blood vessels in your fingers and toes.
It is worse in cold weather and times of stress, but can cause problems at all times of year. I have this too.

And then there is:
There is also carpel tunnel syndrome.

I found out that i do have carpol tunnel. I have pain elsewhere and i also am very tired so their may be something else too but for now i am going to take care of the carpol tunnel. The pain is unmanigible.

I have had the whole variety of illness. I don't know where you live but ask doc for a Lyme disease, or Rocky Mountain spotted fever test. There are two tests, My Mind Is fluffy now but like a western blot test and the other normal one. Also if you responses are normal ask your doc if he/she is willing to do a test run on doxiycline or miniocycline. I would ask for rheumatoid tests as well as other tests checking for MS etc. Maybe a MRI with contrast? I am so sorry for your pain.
