Please go to your doctor and report your symptom. Changes in body odor can indicate an underlying disease, for example, diabetes. Please get checked out right away. Don't be embarrassed to tell your doctor--this will be an important clue for him/her to make a diagnosis.

Some examples of odors associated with diseases:

I see from your profile that you are married and have a daughter.... What do they say about your odor? - do they even notice it?

Hmm from your whole body? Or could it be a yeast infection?

Or is your sense of smell acting up?

By all means get it checked out by a doctor, for I read that......

Diabetes and certain urinary infections can cause a sweet or fruity body odor.

I agree with the rest, if this is an ongoing thing, you need medical advice. Please let us know what happened.

My father had diabetes. When his sugar levels were extremely high, he had a sickenly sweet "fruity" odor. Please, do go to the ER right now.

Hugs,

Jan

The idiot Er docs think everything is in my head because I am bipolar. I don't go anymore because they don't take me serious. I went to rapid response which is a step down from an ER. Kinda like a doc office that is always open. My blood sugar was 285 which I guess is high. I have never really ran high. Just really really low. I have to have a glucose tolerance test done once gain. They told me to go back on the diabetic diet that I followed while I had gestational diabetes.

Can't the smell of our perspiration change when we are under extreme stress or depression?

I have a bizarre idiopathic dysfunction that mimics diabetes at times. Mostly, my blood sugar is incredibly LOW. . .I rarely make it out of the sixties. But from time to time, it'll sky rocket for no reason. Just bam. . .and I'm at a 350 with no warning. But, I have begun to notice the difference in smell. . .and it is a fruity smell. Kind of reminds me of juicy fruit, but like, amplified. It's weird.

Your doc should be able to figure something out after the GT.

Perspiration that's triggered by emotion is most likely to occur on your face, your underarms, your palms and the soles of your feet. But how much you sweat and even the way your sweat smells can be influenced by your mood, certain foods and beverages, some drugs and medical conditions, and even by your hormone levels. What's more — unfair as it seems — some people inherit a tendency to sweat heavily, especially on their soles and palms.
