Hi,I'm new here and would like to ask an embarrasing question. I'm 63 yrs old and have been married to the same man for 31 yrs. We make love about 1 to 2x a week. But after making love even after taking a shower the next AM and cleaning myself off afterwards, the next day when I sit down to urinate I have an odor. It is also on the crotch of my underwear. Does anyone know what this could be. It isn't a yeast infection because I've had those before when I've had to take antibiotics and I haven't had to do that in months. Could anyone out there help me? Thanks,yiyii99

is this an ongoing thing? or is it something that started recently? i had that situation with my first hubby, but never had it before or since. dr told me it was probably just something to do with our body chemistries.
if it is something that has just started i would get it checked out though. you can get yeast infections for other reasons than taking antibiotics, and there are other types of infections you can get. lost

Hi thelostzone and thanks for your reply. It isn't a yeast infection. I went to the MD one time for it. It's been happening for about 1 1/2 yrs now. The MD did one of "those" kind of exams on me and told me I had a bacterial infection and I've never had that before in my whole life. I've wondered abt husband cheating on me because he acts so different than he did before. Like when he tells me he loves me he is acting,he's not genuine or sincere. I just wish I could figure hem out. I never had to worry abot this before. And I don't know what to do. Thanks again,Yiyii99

if i were you i would go ahead and have an exam, and if you are not 100% sure of hubby's fidelity, have them run a full std panel, just to make sure. it could just be caused by a change in your or his body chemistry, but better safe than sorry.
lost

There are lots of bacteria and yeasts and other microbiotics that live inside us every day. Normally, they keep each other in balance and we never notice. Sometimes things get out of balance and one or the other of them begins to overgrow.
That's what yeast infections are. We don't just pick up some yeasts and start growing them - they were there already. Something shifts in our body chemistry (eat too much sugar or not enough vegetables or stress or a thousand possible things) and they start reproducing out of scale. Bacterial infections can be the same way. Something that is normally in there gets out of balance. Just because "something" shows up doesn't mean that we automatically "got it" from someone else. That said - partners should probably get checked for things together, or at least, get checked. They've told me that men can pick up and carry some of these things without having any problems, and next thing you know, they can plant the wild yeast right back!

I am sorry if this might gross out some, but when you have intercourse, you and his body fluids mix and if he climaxes inside you, without a condom ,it takes a while for that to exit you. I have always noticed this, I just wear a pantiliner the day after, and by then your vagina naturally cleans itself. It also helps if you can urinate after sex to get most of it out. It is also good that it prevents urinary track infections. Hope that helps, but unless the smell is really bad, then it sounds normal to me.
