I have like no memory. I half joked with my roommate yesterday that half my childhood I made up and the over half I don't remember. I do remember some things, but not a whole lot and what I do remember is probably off like how old I was or who else was there. Short term mem. sucks too. Constantly rereading stuff. Frustrating.
My brain has been through a lot. I *do* remember (kinda) ~15 years ago I popped a tire mountain biking and slammed my head on a rock and woke up in a tent in the middle of the woods in pitch black three days later with a broken hand, lots of scrapes, and a major headache. I bumped my head pretty hard a couple other times too. Then the past 10 years were filled with anywhere from mild to extreme drug & alcohol abuse. I've been sober a month now. (according to my notes I have "substance induced ADHD" as if that were a thing, as if I didn't struggle with attention and hyperactivity before and maybe I was self medicating). I told someone this recently (I think they were clinical-y if I recall correctly) and they said I should look into seeing a neurologist. Can they really do anything?

It wouldn't hurt. There might be a physical reason for your problems. I have to be referred by another doctor first. Have you talked to a primary care doc about your issues?
