I have recently become involved with a wonderful man that is suffers with Scizoaffective disorder. I posted a message earlier this month and recieved some wonderful advice and greatly thankful...our relationship is growing stronger and the advice has helped me understand and support him. My mom suffers from bipolar and it has helped me understand her more seeing him and communicating openly.
I have a medical question that maybe someone can help with...we were returning from a wonderful day out of town and he began to suffer from what he calls "a spell". he say's his head hurts and things like the trees are "distorted". He normally closes his eyes and rest and it will clear up. We were an hour away from his house so he closed his eyes but he did not feel better until after laying down. He said it usually takes an hour or two to them to go away. Sometimes he sees like white dots, blurred vision but things are very distorted, etc. When he was in the hospital a few months ago another patient stated that he had the same "spells" and his doctore stated these are brain seizures? he said he asked his doctor and the doctor never really answered him. I was wondering if anyone out there experiences these, and what information you may have. I have tried searching online and continue to come with epilepsy information?
Also, if someone that suffers from Scizoaffective disorder - has reenterd the workforce from being on disability , can you share how you accomplished this? He wants so badly to reenter the workforce but is very scared..he says he does not know if he is afraid of success or failure. he is so good to me I just want to make his life easier if I can. HUGS to you all!

What you describe him as telling you is how I used to get before having a seizure -- I would help him find a neurologist and have an EEG done.

That's the only part of your question I know anything about, sorry. medical question

:good_posting: I agree. They also sound like they could be migraines. Migraines have a variety of symptoms and can be different for each person. He needs a good medical check up and a definite diagnosis. There may be a medicaton that would help him tremendously.
