I have a question on hubby's behalf. When he eats at a restaurant, we get home and automatically the food has already gone through his system. I'm going to have him go to the docs and get checked out, but has anyone experienced this before? It seems like maybe if its going this fast through his body maybe hes not getting the right nutrients before they are on there way out. I have no idea what it could be. Food going through system too quick? Food going through system too quick? Food going through system too quick?

is this only after some particular types of restaurants Balish ? and does it never happen at home ?
what does he eat when you go out, that he never eats at home ? is he losing weight ?
this is often a sign of a food intolerance, but you need to try to narrow it down

get him to have blood tests for diabetes, gluten intolerance, and whatever else his doc can think of.

I know my wife experiances this during periods of high stress, is there something bothering him lately, maybe at work or with his family that he cannot get out of his mind, sometimes that can have an affect on digestion.

yes, stress can cause a hyperactive bowel, which will produce this effect

perhaps he gets stressed by going out ?

This happens to me at certain types of restaurants, but not usually at home.

You can make up nutrients in a variety of ways, but I certainly would get it checked out, yeah.

My husband and I have definately had times/restaurants where one or the other of us (never both at the same time!) have had this happen. We try again another time before we decide we don't like "that" restaurant because one of us has a problem with it.

There's so many things that could be causing it; the particular restaurant, what's eaten, one's mood before/after, etc.

Is he on any meds? My Synthroid was too high and that was causing me problems. Some meds accelerate the intestinal tract and maybe with "restaurant food" or how it's prepared, that would do it all the time for him.

I can't eat anything from McDonalds... talk about fast food! Their food never left the restaurant WITH me Food going through system too quick?

It could be the oils, spices, or cooking methods, additives like MSG...that could be causing this problem with him. And stress will do it also. Not having digestive enzymes working properly in the stomach (you can get them at health food stores) might also.

If it's ALL restaurants though... maybe he has an unconscious aversion to eating out/spending money?

It's good he's going to see a Gastroenterologist to see what's going on.
I had a test once to see how fast the stomach empties so he might get to do that. Food going through system too quick?

I hope he gets answers so he can feel more comfortable.

I have this problem sometimes but its due to the fact I had bariatric surgery. Its called dumping syndrome. I used to have it happen a lot right after the surgery but it has calmed down somewhat. I had it happen today though when I was out at mom and dad's after I ate some nachos...I guess my system didn't like the salsa/ranch dressing combo.
