Boy howdy do my knees hurt.

I think that old thingy arthritis has set in. I need to go to the doc to really find out I guess but don't really want to. The pain med I am on doesn't work and was told to take tylenol and glucosamine but that has to build up in my system and give it time. Until then I have to deal with the pain. I can barely walk it hurts so bad. Even laying on the couch or in my bed hurts. I bought a heating pad today and that helps some but it still hurts. I guess I'm just whining yeah I'm just whining. I know there is nothing they can do if it is arthritis. Maybe I can get a permanant handicapped tag out of the doc though if it is.

Artie runs in my family that's why I thought of him. Either that or I could have fibro. I ache in other parts of my body also. That's why I'm thinking about going to the doc next week.

Could just be from weak muscles and weight. You have to use it or lose it and I'm not in the mood to do all the MRI's and stuff so am going to be doing some exercises this week before I go to the doctors so hopefully I can see it's getting better. Here's a good website I found:

every extra pound of weight you carry tranlsates to 5 psi on your knees.....so your knee is carrying an extra 5 pounds for every pound you gain over your ideal weight

of course were all probably overweight and it could be another problem, but my &^%hole primary physician told me this after I complained about knee pain too......

I ended up calling my ortho's office last week and wouldn't you know he's on vacation. So I made an appointment for the 9th and will go in and maybe he'll be able to see what's going on. My knees hurt something awful but he'll probably just say lose weight which I am doing slowly but surely. He has been real nice not to say that yet LOL.

About a year ago, I started some new video game exercises using a Sony Eyetoy. Worked great, until i twisted my left knee from the workouts. i wound up with a torn meniscus and had surgery to fix it. I'm better now, but I'm looking forward to some other so called "exergames" that are expected to hit the market in a few months.
Anyway, I know the struggles wiht being overweight.
Hang in there!

I went and saw my ortho this morning and found out its not arti that has set it its patellar tendonitis. So he's sending me to rehab and I'm to get some knee straps. You know the kind that people that have tennis elbow wear well I'll have them for my knees. I'm also to use heat for 15 minutes every hour. I can't take any pain meds due the fact I'm on an MAOI but hopefully that will be changing soon. He told me to take Tylenol or Advil or Aleve. He X-rayed my knees and they are clean so no arthritis and the surgery he did last year has stuck so he doesn't need to go back in and clean them out again YIPPEE!!! I was scared I was facing surgery again. I'm to go back in a month if I'm still having problems.

LOL I wish. I also called the surgeon's office that did my bariatric surgery a few years ago because I've been at a plateau for about a month and his nurse told me its probably because I haven't been able to exercise because it hurts my knees so bad. So I told her I'm starting PT on Monday and she said that will help and when I get done doing that that I can start walking again and that should help break the plateau. I hope so cuz I see my surgeon in Sept. and I want to have lost more weight than I have so maybe he can schedule my next surgery.
