Basically, I'm looking for an “Adda Boy!” since I’m starting a new weight loss/health eating program. I’ll bring myself down to 255 pounds in one month, or lose 10 pounds.
Many years ago, I did the Jenny Craig, which probably works for some folks, but didn’t teach me a thing about proper eating. I did lose 50 pounds. I, more or less, severely restricted my intake of food since my military commander said she was concerned about my weight.
But I have learned in the past 16 years some good ways to lose weight. For one thing, good eating is a lifelong process. I know that it is in my best interest to look at why I eat and how much I take in. Mostly, it's emotional eating. I also have a big thing for carbs.
My M.D. couple of years ago, told me about how important glycemic index is in helping you to maintain a healthy weight. I learned that there are good carbs and bad carbs, good fats and bad fats and good fibers, too. She encouraged me to drink lots of water-advice that I proudly say I adhere to.
Anyway, it's the Nutrisystem diet. I’ve heard people say they've had success with it. My hope is that I will lose weight and then feel like I can pick up my old exercise program. I’m sort of stuck in first gear for the time being.
My wife said she would also like to see me in healthier shape. She is concerned about my health and high BP.
Thanks for the support

Jim, you might want to check out http://www.sparkpeople.com they have a lot of people following NutriSystem and/or the glycemic index way of eating. I've been working there for nearly 3 months and have lost over 20 pounds so far. It's great having lots of other people (we're talking tens of thousands :-) working on weight loss the same time for support.
