Over the past couple weeks I've had a very big problem with sleeping. I am unable to fall asleep until at least 6am every morning and I've been sleeping until about 11am to 1pm everyday.
After I wake up, even if I've only gotten a small amount of sleep, I feel wide awake until 6am. I don't understand why I can't sleep anymore.

Plus, school starts in a couple weeks and I can't keep this pattern going.
Any help with this or ideas of how to get better sleep would be appreciated.

Did you change anything a couple weeks ago; start or stop taking a particular med or have something happen in your life that made you anxious or depressed you? Any change in your habits could throw you off.

Thanks for the reply.

Nope, I''m not on any meds and I haven't been taken off any.
Nothing has happened that has made me depressed or anxious.
I've had a problem with something, I'm not really sure if it's depression/anxiety or what that it is because I've never gone to a doctor about it. It's been going on for a long time but has never made my sleep this different.

I've been having the same problem last 2 weeks, not being able to sleep more than a few hours a day. In my case I know what the cause is though. I have celiac related thyroid disease that causes my thyroid to go hyper when I eat something with wheat gluten in it.

Thanks for the reply.

It's good that you knew what the problem was, I should probably try to go to a doctor and find out what's going on.

Thanks everyone.
