The last few days I've not felt well at all. Had a horrible headache and felt like my face was going to explode from the pressure. Ya sinuses. Last night I woke up with an asthma attack. I couldn't move. Everytime I moved I had horrible sharp pain in my chest. It took me forever it seemed to reach my inhaler in the other room.

I was only dx'ed with asthma a year ago and have only had a couple of attacks. This was the scarest thing I've ever been through. Waking up out of a deep sleep not being able to breath. NOT NICE.

Asthma is the work of the devil...i have been dxd for 4 years now...and the changing of seasons, just gets me down. Just try to keep as many inhalers around as possible. Do you take any maintenance meds? i take advair, singulair - allegra, and prednisone.

Hoping you feel better quickly.

Yes that is a scary feeling. I found out I had asthma when I was 7 so that means I've had asthma for 30 years. The doctors found out I had it when I had my tonsils out and I was coming out of anethesia and I had an asthma attack. What a way to find out. I now keep an inhaler with me at all times. I am on albuterol both in an inhaler and I have a home nebulizer so I don't have to go the hospital every time I have an attack. I am also on advair 500/50 twice a day. Luckily since I started the Advair and have been on it regularly I have done well. So next time you see your doc ask about a preventitive med.

How often do you use your rescue inhaler?

If you have some kind of respiratory illness (sinus infection, sore throat, cold etc.,) there is nothing wrong with taking your inhaler before you go to bed even if you are not wheezing.

Try having multiple inhalers at reach. Ask your doc for multiple perscripts for your inhalers so you can carry one in your purse, car, bedside, school, work, etc. I know that feeling, where you dont want to move and go get the inhaler because your afraid it will make it worse, sometimes I will lay there and have someone go get it for me.
