Hi, I am really scared and worried. Somewhat confused as well. Yet all the while do not understand which point of my rapid problems wiith this.
About 4 years ago I started having problems with neck pain. It Has been getting much worse over time. I have been in severe pain for at this point for about 2 years now. I had an MRI done around a year and a half ago and it got worse, so my pdoc told me of a Doctor at a pain clinic for help and my Primary Care Physician reffered me there several months ago. The MRI report said I had bone spurs on the Vertebre of my cervical spine and narrowing of the Cervical Spine. I have since started having more problems. Diagnosed with 'Cervical Spinal Stenosis' The pain Doctor started me on pain medicine now taking Oxycodone 10/325mg up to (6) a day 1 or 2 every 4-6 hours. For awhile now. When I began having pins and needles in my right hand they did a needle test and found nerve damage on my right hand saying 'Carpal Tunnel' . For some time now my upper body has become very rigid and stiff. I am not able to sleep laying down any more. I have been sleeping in a reclining chair. I keep getting headaches with the light making them worse even the computer screen has to go dim and all lights out. Since I have been having such increased pain in my left shoulder, first time being worse last night than all the pain has been ever. I fell asleep in the Chair Only today when I woke up and my arm and hand are some swelling this has been now for 10 or so hours ago. My left hand when I Woke today was 'asleep' and numb and when I use itIi don't feel, only the right hand has never been as bad as now this left hand. My left hand feels really heavy and when I touch it or make a fist it is prickly feelings all over the hand and it is still 'Asleep' and will not wake. up. the Pain Doctor told me I needed to have my GP send me to a Neuoroligist and so not this last week that just went by, on ly the week before that I went to see my GP and told her what they told me. I woke up this morning for one thing, it happens and has before. Woke sitting on the Toilet and When I woke on the toilet and tried to stand up I could not feel my legs and have to hold on to the shower safety bar and sink and stand there and wait until I can remain standing and until after awhile until I was able to walk. My GP said she would have her nurse call about the Neurologist only no one called last week. I feel like she is upset with the other doctor for running the needle test that showed something wrong with my right upper extrematy (sp?) Only last night my left shoulder and left side of my neck were hurting worse than all the pain I have had in 4 years. I don't understand how the right hand is the one that they say is problemed only it has never did how my left hand is right now. It is Saturday & office closed till Monday. I just am confused and am not able to understand what is wrong with my left hand now and the confusion and headaches. I know it must be part of my spinal disorder only it just came on all of the sudden today. It has never done this and neither has my right hand. Does anyone knoiw what the meaning or like the pain doctor said that they and I should expect the stenosis to progress over time. If anyone knows about this I would appreciate your help. This Numbness is all new to me and have never had it in my hand like this and am scared. I just need some feedback and I just do not understand this. A neourologis can do more tests is what I think only not sure. Thank yoiu very much. Thank you.

I have lumbar spinal stenosis, so this affects my legs, but I too, have much the same symnptoms. Numbess in my legs and such. I was born with it, but like all my other medical stuff, it didn't show up until much later. Do you have a pain doc? He/she could give you injections for the sysmptoms. The stenosis, as far as I understand it, will never go away
