In case you are without family or friends to do it or even if you do, how about linking up with at least one other person and check on how they are doing on a daily basis? I have one friend on line here I am doing that with, but have the time to fill in as a daily contact with a few others. I have a fear of falling ill or dying , where no one would notice. Just a mutual welfare check.
