Follow up today with my "tummy" doc to let him know how the nexium is working for my heartburn and regurg problems. I will more than likely have to schedule a scope to see how the damage to my esophagus is healing. My "potential" surgery has been cancelled for the time being and this new tummy doc seems to think I won't have to have it. Cross your fingers. 6 months is a long time for full recovery.

Well, good news and bad. The good news: no surgery cause I'm doing well with Nexium (the wonder drug). The bad news: my blood pressure is up. 148/84. My usual is 120/60. Nice change there, huh. Doc said that the stress of my home situation, the stress from the mental crap, the smoking, and the drinking are the major factors... like I didn't already know that. The answer: low sodium low fat diet, continue my workouts, continue therapy and meds, hypnosis therapy from my t to help me quit smoking, and no more drinking. Well, guess I'm back on the wagon. Oh, yeah, and monthly physicals with the GP he referred me to till it's back under control. Wow, no smoking, no drinking, no fatty foods... how much fun is this gonna be? Oh well, guess I gotta do it.
