I recently came across an article here that discusses a new diagnosis for children with behavior disorders. It is called Temper Dysregulation Disorder. This fits my daughter to a T. I was told by a psychologist she had ODD...but I think she really had TDD. He also suggested that her behavior...she's 6..might be an early manifestation of bipolar disorder. I felt so bad after he said that...I know the genetic tendency is there but I was just hoping.... This new category gives me some hope. She did get a lot better with therapy and consistent parenting. I just didn't want her to have a diagnosis of BP so early in life. God knows the stigma I face now.

This is exciting to hear! My 9 year old's pdoc thinks he's bipolar. I'm going to look up what you posted, maybe it fits my son too. Thank you for posting this!

Just looked it up, that totally sounds like my son. I'm going to have to talk to his pdoc about this. Again, thanks for posting this!
