Okay jer finally picked up on how to suck on the sippy cup the last couple of days. He still doesn't know how to hold it up to get the milk to come down once its half empty.
So i still have to hold it for him partially. However, I would really love to take him off that dang bottle. Is there any reason I can't give him his milk in the sippy, with the understanding that I will need to help him hold it( i still have to help him hold his bottle so its not really an issue)? I would rather see him drinking from the sippy and getting more used to it, because eventually I will be able to put it down and he can have it whenever he is thirsty or hungry or whatever. |

If you think he is ready to let go of his bottle (and he is eating good - healthy) then there is no reason he couldn't drink from a sippy cup.

Yeah I agree as long as he drinks his milk well out of a sippy, I see no reason to continue with the bottle. A matter of fact my thoughts are the sooner they are off the bottle the better.

Yes, he really doesn't have much of an attachment to the bottle, he never has been one to have that type of thing. He drinks from it, but he doesn't look for it as a source of comfort or anything like that nor does he nurse from the bottle to sleep at night. The only time he uses the bottle is to drink four or five ounces and then he doesnt show any interest at all.
hes eating great, three meals a day, usually about a quarter cup of fruit and two slices of toast for breakfast, soup(usually something hearty like chicken with rice or that sort of thing) and a slice of toast and some more fruit for lunch, and usually whatever im having in small bites for supper. And then he usually has a snack too somewheres in there. hes a great eater, this just occured the last few weeks so im pretty impressed. |
