My gp has referred me to see a psychologist and I'm trying to claim insurance for it. I'm still studying and my health cover was arranged by the school. If I claim insurance for seeing the psychologist, would they inform the school about it? Or would future schools and employers find out that I've been to see a psychologist? I have been experiencing psychosis triggered by anxiety and even though they don't really know what's wrong with me and I'm worried that schools and future employers would find out about it and think I'm unstable. Starting to wonder if getting help was a huge mistake. Please help!

I think you have to give permission for your records to be sent to different places. I suggest you not worry about it.

Many people see therapists, for many different reasons. Please get the help you need. Okay?

I really like Payne's answer, next post. I think she totally nailed it. however, when it comes to divulging your therapy, these days sometimes the info is readily available, and sometimes not. Sometimes you are required to divulge such, and sometimes not. There can be both positive and negative consequences in all these scenarios. Something to think about later, but after you get the help you need. And you ought to get help in the future, if, and as you need it. The best, and hang in there, it will be ok! gotta do what you gotta do!
