What do I do?

I'm a 26 year old Bipolar sufferer, if that's even a word, who is on disability with medicare with supplement plans for seeing the doctor and my drugs. I don't know if I need to change coverage for my meds or what to do, but my meds will run out in exactly 2 weeks and if I don't take them I WILL be either be admitted to a psych hospital or put in jail. My current drug coverage, and pharmacy, will not cover my meds which are a tier 4 drug and since I'm on extra help I will only pay $3.50 for a 90 day supply.... I know this is random but that is how my mind works...

I am sorry for not completely understanding, please forgive if I do not have what you asking but this is what I understand and will try to help. If it is a matter of needing a new prescription, contact the physician for a refill or even a short-term refill until the doc can see you, as I know some docs require an appointment to write out refills and make an appointment at the same time. If it is a matter of not being covered by the insurance for specific tiers, you may find help with the Psych Central Drug Prescription Drug Discount Card (located at the top of this forum), for meds not covered by the insurance and can reduce the cost of them.

However, is it because it is a Tier 4 that the med requires a prior authorization from the insurance company? You can find out from the insurance company or ask the pharmacist why it is not being covered/why it was denied when you went to fill it. If it is because a prior authorization is needed, then contact the doctor's office that prescribes it that you need a prior authorization from your prescription insurance company for that med. Give them that insurance's information and it can take a few days to go through so should be started as soon as possible, if this is the case.

Again, I am sorry if I misunderstood and hope you find a solution soon so the consequences of running out do not become a reality. Do what you need to talk to your doc about a refill, or using the prescription drug card to help get your meds, or get a prior authorization. Best wishes meanwhile and hang in there!

you can try to apply for medicaid. Contact your local Department of social service. they should be able to help you with this process. in the mean time contact your doctor for refills and let DSS know of your situation and your MD

I am 26 and also bipolar. I don't know a whole lot about medicare, I thought people our age got medicaid. I apologize, I don't know the difference. I hope you can get your meds. I had a similar problem last year since I got married. My husband didn't know he had to add me within a certain time frame, and I had to pay out of pocket.
