I have so many different diagnosis, but when I was really bad psychosis, in and out, my mother signed me up for disability. They made me see a psychologist, they made me try to read words and say what they meant, they made me do a memory test, they made me do an IQ test and they asked me all sorts of questions. I did not realize what was going on at the time, I didn't even know what SSDI was. Is it common to get on the first time around? I am paranoid that they will take it away from me if I am feeling better and then I will be homeless and psychotic again. I never got a copy of the records, i'm afraid what they said about me.

I know in some cases they will approve on the first try. I was approved based on my history combined with my current presentation. They generally do not review too often, and will take lots of info into account. I don't know too much about the system, but I am under the impression that they don't go hunting people down at the first sign of improvement... I would call them up to be sure though. They seem to be easy enough to talk to if you get the right person.

It seems very unlikely they would decide to revoke your SSDI, they might re-evaluate in a few years to try and determine if you are functional for work....which according to your post it sounds like you probably wouldn't be. I think if they did take it away you can appeal the decision and be able to keep getting it.
