Hi,
Does anyone know if a dependent can continue to be insured on a parents insurance plan after age 26 if they have a disability? (not on SSD) It is Blue Cross, employeer group plan. Thank you |

Doesn't "dependent" mean someone that lives with you that you're supporting? This person has trouble working due to health problems but is not on SSDI? I don't know the details of specific insurance plans. You may or may not be able to keep them on your insurance, I don't know. Search the web, you might find an answer. The Blue Cross site may have an answer.

You have to have it documented by a doctor though. To continue to get my dental and vision again, my doctor has to write them a letter stating my disability.

Difference contracts can have different provisions. Best to call the BC/BS customer service to find out. But remember, even then you can get bad information. Keep asking until you finds a customer service rep who researches the provisions carefully.
Good luck! I hope you can stay covered. |
