I have no idea I feel like my dad might take it okay.

But my mom I have no idea.

The main problem with telling my dad is every time we're alone I want to tell him but can't

Also this is awesome my cousins were visiting it's like having a little sister and another little brother who's annoying.

Well if she had made a huge scene, if she had been negative on a major way about it, I think you would remember that.

I got a free binder! I feel like my birthday came early. The fit is perfect and it's comfy... this is my first binder. I can't help but feel that I could have saved up the money... someone else might need it more than me.... I still find it hard to.accept that I deserve things, too.

If you're curious, it's a GC2b tank binder. They're affordably priced, too.

So I visited with my mom recently, and it was really jarring. Like all my friends that I'm usually around call me "they" and refer to me neutrally. Then my mom comes outta left field still calling me "she" and her "daughter" and I kinda felt sick and it triggered a lot of dysphoria. Like, I love my mom, I really do, she's funny and goofy and supportive. But this is one place she continues to let me down. And it's hard to bring up because she can be really defensive and has "gas lighter" tendencies. I just don't know what to do.....

Ok so hi I feel as if this thread has been really low activity so I just coming out.

So in school we are doing identity stuff and I'm learning french and it's just causing tons of gender dysphoria for me and just plain stress, so then there is this group called allies in diversity and I keep thinking about it but if I do it one of my best friends is doing it though and I feel like if I tell I'm sort of transgender that everyone will know and so I'm super stressed. Also I feel that if everyone knows I will be made fun of.

Please reply

Hey,

I'm sorry you're having a rough time! If you go to that group you don't have to out yourself! You could just go and get to know people there and see if you can trust them.

Hugs, Adrian

Is there any need to tell them about this at this point? It's just a group you'll be going to from time to time. I don't mean lying to them, but do they normally know about everything you do throughout the day?
Thanks for this!

I asked today and my parents have to sign a sheet so I can do this group, because in this class there is a question sheet/test to see how we understand diversity.

OK. Is there a teacher leading this group? Does the teacher seem trustworthy enough to confide in him/her? From what you write, also about the blockers, it sounds as if it was time to figure out how to come out to your parents. I know this is very scary, but maybe confiding in another adult you trust (e.g. the teacher leading this group) would be a first step.
Thanks for this!

Okay -- so if they lead this group they must have some awareness of LGBT topics. Do you think there is one who you like and to whom you could speak?
Thanks for this!

Sort of Mr.G one of the counselors met him the first day last year but I have the other counselor. My only fear is he will tell my counselor Mrs.W and that she will tell my parents and then I KILL MY SELF IF PARENTS REACT BAD.

I know what you're going through is very stressful and scary, TheSquids. Just be good to yourself and give yourself time. Taking the allies in diversity class sounds like a good thing. It sounds, though, like you're worried about getting your parents to sign the permission slip. But you don't have to go into a big explanation about it, just tell them one of your best friends is taking it and it sounds interesting and you want to do it too. Are your parents loving and supportive to you in general?

And I hear your concerns about speaking to your counselor. It definitely is a good idea to talk to someone, but it's also important to find someone who you can trust and who you know will keep your conversation confidential. If not a counselor, perhaps another teacher, or even a friend?

Lastly, please under no circumstance hurt or harm yourself. I know it can seem really overwhelming at times, but it's true what they say: it does get better!

If you need to, you can always call the Trans Lifeline--their number in the U.S. is 877-565-8860. They have trained volunteers who will listen and talk with you
