So I'm a trans man (ftm) and I know I don't like my boobs. Sometimes they make me feel too feminine. I haven't started on hormone therapy yet because I want to have a kid and I know it can cause infertility and cause weird things to happen to my ovaries. So I don't want to deal with that just yet. I want to have a child first. Though I do have a question, when should I start hormones after the child is born? I haven't gotten pregnant but how long should I wait?

I don't know hon, but I'd get past the breast feeding stage first in case the baby needs to be fed.

Your doctor's the best person to ask about that... If you want to breast feed I'd imagine you'd have to wait until after that. Pregnancy causes a lot of hormone changes and stuff anyway so it may well take a while for things to settle down enough for an endo to know what dose to give you.

My doctor actually discussed egg harvesting and pregnancy when I started T. While it might cause infertility (there's no gaurantee it will), my doctor said if I ever wanted to have kids in the future I'd just have to stop t for awhile and I could carry a pregnancy if I wanted. Everyone is different so it's best to talk to your doctor, but plenty of trans men get pregnant and have kids. It's pretty common. hope this helps
