How many E.D. commercials can a guy listen to over the course of his lifetime before the "you need our pill to have a sex life" message sinks in? Does this power of suggestion eventually have a negative, emasculating effect particularly for something like impotence that is often psychological in nature?

I am SO mentally damaged about ED and my libido. I don't think I'll ever be able to perform without the use of cialis anymore. I feel like I'm so far gone.

That's awful. It sounds as though you're one of the victims who've been exposed to that "go talk to your doctor" TV speel ever since you were two years old, probably close to 10,000 times if your dad was an NFL fan, and now you have this impotence that has been implanted into your head by this repeated exposure to subliminal messaging. I suggest you listen to a male virility subliminal CD each night until you recover your male libido.

Although it is often caused by psychological issues, there is a huge link between ED and poorly controlled diabetes. And, diabetes is on the rise, (no pun intended....) and especially type 2 diabetes, if poorly treated or undiagnosed, could very easily be causing complications for the age group of men that these ED pills are developed for.
So, yes, you should talk to your doctor. But you should not only talk to your doctor about an ED pill! You should be tested for diabetes, and learn to get it under control, however that may be. ED in diabetes is a form of neuropothy, which is damage done to the nerves by having too high of a blood glucose level for too long. It is a major concern that most people don't realize. They think, "Oh I might loose a foot or a leg." Doctors may not even bring it up. Diabetes is just like mental illness, actually, in the way many people treat it. They go into denial. They say, "I don't want to change my lifestyle, so I'll just ignore it. It won't be that bad." But, diabetes eats away at your enitre body. Your nerves, your blood vessels, your heart, your kidneys, your liver, your eyes, your teeth, and... well... your ability to perform. I work in a diabetes education center and we're always trying to think of ways to get people to be more serious about taking control. (Because you can.) And I personally feel that if you tell a man "your penis will stop working," that is a huge motivation! Forget losing a food or going blind.... no more sex! ![]() Even if you don't have diabetes, it is a sign of something. So you may not need a pill to fix it, but it may be a sign of something else.

Okay, but I don't have diabetes or impotency. I'm doing fine, but will make it a priority to lose some weight to avoid those twin towers of doom. They didn't have these commercials during most of my life, but I feel sorry for the youth.
