Anyone have rage issues?

If so, what worked, or didn't work, against it?

I was dealing with a particular rage-spell concerning the amount of work that kept piling up...
I then tried reversing what I was stuck on... where I was first perturbed by the amount of work that was piling up, I decided I won't be doing the work to my benefit, but the benefit of others.
That worked to get rid of the feelings, and this article validates what I experienced:
Quote:
Contentment Comes When You Give Yourself to Others
October 16, , 2011

by Rick Warren

And all of you must put on the apron of humility, to serve one another; for the scripture says, ‘God resists the proud, but shows favor to the humble.’ 1 Peter 5:5 (TEV)
If you will begin giving yourself to others, sharing what things you do have, sharing your time and your talents, you will find yourself learning to be content.
Helping others will give you an appreciation for what you have and who you are, but more importantly, God designed you to serve and share with others. Until you do that, you will never be truly content.
Real servants don’t serve for the approval or applause of others. They are content to live for an audience of One. They are content with quietly serving God.
You may be serving in obscurity in some small place, feeling unknown and unappreciated. Listen: God put you where you are for a purpose! He has every hair on your head numbered, and he knows your address.
Thoughts? Despite the religious undertones on the article, I'm personally agnostic.

I love Rick Warren. His stuff is so to the point. I particually feel where he says: Listen God put you where you are for a purpose!, to be so true. I truely believe we are each here for a reason and we might never know what that reason is. It might to touch a life on this website or some else that you were nice too that changed their day.

Thanks for posting this. I need to read it often.

You do not have to give yourself to others, all you need to do is work on gaining control over your emotions. It can be done. I think I do a great job with that but am not perfect, I occasionally slip, but fewer and farther apart. That give yourself to others translated means send me your donation.

Hi! I think I've posted in the wrong forum! My partner has NPD and yes he does 'rage' a lot but what he has said to me is that it is due to 'stress' that he feels the need to 'rage' It like a boiling pot that overflows!

I definitely have rage issues. I started a new medicine yesterday hoping that this will keep me calm. I will let you know in 4-6 weeks.....lol

I can tell you that keeping a conversation while I am annoyed is one way it comes out.

When I feel disrespected it comes quick.

When rules aren't followed.

When others disagree

When I am questioned

and the list goes on and on!!!
