I do have ocd but lately I have been feeling hopeless in my recovery because my kids are 2 and 6 and I am terrified of aging and dying and so worried that something will happen to them and others I love and keep not wanting them to get older

I don't want to get older because I keep feeling how I will miss this time in the past and I will be miserable when I am older

these things go through my mind constantly and I cannot shut them off

I am wasting my time with them now because my mind is preoccupied with missing when they were younger and dreading when they get older

and sooo many other thoughts constantly spinning around in my mind

I have intrusive thoughts with my ocd. I have no ability to diagnose you, but just can say what I've experienced. When I am fretting over something like you are (aging), it is usually part of my anxiety disorder. The incessant worry sounds a lot like anxiety. Often I become very fixated on an idea and worry myself silly about it.

Do you have a therapist you could talk to about all of this?

I hope you feel better. I worry I waste my time with my son too. Hopefully I won't look back and regret missing so much.

On The OCD Project, one woman did her compulsions to "protect" her son, to keep bad things from happening to him. So, it could be OCD. I agree, you should talk to a therapist, who might be able to help calm your fears.
