I hate this so much. My OCD is playing up tonight and it's affecting me in more than one way. I went out and was holding the dogs lead and also went to the shop. I not long got back and my hands felt disgusting. I feel dirty and wanted to wash my hands with bleach which is really bad especially when I pass out with the smell. I went in the bathroom and lined everything up, the same thing happened in my bedroom. I tried to stop lining things up and touching things in a certain way but tonight it seems to have all hit me with avengance.

I want it to stop. It's making me anxious and all jittery. It's making all my other problems worse. I want it to stop. Has anyone got any advise. Please anything that may help. I'm going out my mind.

I hate having ocd, also. Are you taking any medications for it? You have to work on controlling the urges. I know easier said than done. I know I can be doing fine and then WHAM! it comes back with a vengenance. Counseling helps. I wish I could be of more help. Just letting you know I understand.

Two questions that come to mind are: Are you in therapy? and... Are you taking any medications? Both of those things can really help OCD, although I'd personally say that the therapy is the most important part. However, my medication has helped to get rid of a lot of the anxiety associated with my OCD, so in that sense it helps as well.

Sending you many hugs. OCD is a tough illness to deal with, but keep hanging in there.

Yes I am in therapy and they are focusing on my other problems but hopefully sorting them out will help my OCD. Also yes I am on medication they chose that specific anti-depressant for my OCD but I havn't noticed much difference. It is better than it used to be but when I have my bad days it is horrific.

Thank you both very much it's good to know people understand.
