I was just wondering if paranoia about religious or paranormal experiences is a symptom of Pure O ocd. I am sometimes afriad that Satan is trying to take over the world. I constantly look for signs that this is happening. For example, if I see someone with a upside down penticle on their shirt, or if I see a priest or nun. I also fear thqat famous dead people are made at me or that there are spirits in my bedroom. sometimes theses fears seem very real, but most of the time I am able to tell that they are irrational. Does anyone else have religous or paranormal fears?
Thanks for this!

That's pretty normal for religions, actually.

It might be normal for religous people, but what gets me is that I am not normally a religous person.

It sounds more like a paranoia-related problem than an obsession problem.

There is some that say there is a specific type of OCD - "Religious OCD" which is relating to the idea of sin, evil etc. But any type of OCD can be dealt with in the same way. Do you have a therapist or a doctor to talk to about this?

Yes constantly.

My T says I need to speak to my priest.

I go to church and have weird moments...e.g= 6-7 months ago I was in the cathedral of my city, I went to the 'Sacred Heart' section of the cathedral, like I always do. I meditated once there for the whole day, but this one time I stepped on the stone steps in front and they........ did not colapse as more exploded. It kinda freaked me out a bit and on lookers. There are many ways to look at this, the stone was ready to go anyhow. Or one of a list of reasons.

It only added to the list of spiritual experiences I've had.

I tell my T that I get angels in my dreams (which I do), she does not know what to say. She does not doubt what I say cause we trust each other big time.

I know that sometimes signs can seem like we are being directly talked to, but all the signs- good or bad-, I see as good.
I think it means we are more receptive or sensitive to our enviroment. I will not let my own signs dictate my state of mind as to how I behave, I just keep them secret till the day I need them.

I do trust I'll need them one day.

I hoped this helped.
Take Care.
