I often find myself picking at my lower lip. Anyone else do this?

You are not alone i pick my whole face, i don't even know i do it. I plan to go to the doctors and see what they suggest maybe you could do the same before you end up picking more.

I used to do this a lot when I was younger. One time I picked my lower lip so bad that it bleeded for a good few minutes plus the next day it was sore. Luckily, I made myself quit.

I have a very bad habit of doing THIS. I always pick my lower lip. I think it relaxes me and while I do it I think alot of thoughts and drift off into my own world . But it is something I would love to stop. It is NOT good to pick your lips. They will bleed, have scars, look ugly and nasty, dried out , etc. You will end up having no lower lip after taking all the skin away. So I put lip balm on or Vaseline helps my lips look nice and moist and not gross and dry for me to pick! Hope this helps ! Picking your lips can turn out to be bad and make your lips un attractive ! Goodluck to stop the picking of your lip!

Yep. Been picking my lower lip since I was a little kid. Thanks for posting your question, Artchic. I didn't even know this was a problem for anyone else.

I do it almost daily - I chew it and peel off the top layer with my teeth until it feels smooth. It has nothing to do with my mental status.

Really not good for playing clarinet, but it actually helps a little bit for playing flute since picking at my lip involves keeping it moist which you need for a good sound.
