A few years ago I was talking to someone on a text. I was going to sleep and they kept texting. I ignored and put my phone on silence.
That was when my OCD was mild and got moderate. (It's severe now.) I won't start conversations on text anymore because I worry that someone might be busy and then get a notification and they would be mad I interrupted. Or they don't want to talk anymore but I still text them. A few years ago my text number totaled (a month) : About 5000 Now my text numbers total : About 200 (Those are weather texts and questions to people about work or food.) Does anyone feel worried about it? |

Surely the whole point of texts is that they don't interrupt like a phone call and you can respond when you please?
On the other hand 5000 seems like an awful lot - there can be too much of a good thing. However I am an older person and its seems younger people send 60 texts per day so perhaps 5000 is not out of the way: CHART OF THE DAY: Number Of Texts Sent - Business Insider Perhaps you can pre-empt annoying them by saying, 'let me know if I am interrupting something or if you are busy'. Then they can politely let you know if this is the case. |

I have about 20 contacts, and about 10 were friends from school. We sent texts almost everyday about homework, questions, etc. The weather texts were once or twice a day. Added together, that could be 100-300 texts a day.
But texting worries me now. It's hard to reply back. |
