Hello passionfruit3: Well... all I can tell you is that I have intrusive thoughts pretty-much every waking moment of every day.

Intrusive thoughts can be really annoying (and the violent/dangerous ones are even more distressing), but it's important to try to tell your caseworker about it. Maybe you could write it out and then give the paper to them, so your mom doesn't see.

I agree that you should try and tell your caseworker about these thoughts. Is your mom someone you can go to for support? Back in my early 20's, I was so ashamed of some of the thoughts I was having, and finally opened up to my mom one night. I thought she would disown me because these thoughts were so awful, but she ended up being a huge part of my recovery.

Telling someone about your thoughts can be very relieving in my opinion. I get intrusive thoughts about self-harm and hurting others. I know that they're just thoughts and I try to not let them get to me. Everytime I get these thoughts I snap myself with a rubber band and find something to distract me (like PsychCentral).

I get violent intrusive thoughts too. Not fun. Like stuck1nhead said, I try to distract myself because obviously I don't want to do any of these things my mind decides to throw at me.
