I have a fear of metal and it is driving me crazy I have to wash my hands right away if I touch metal by accident. I'm so scared I'll get radiation poisoning because someone who makes things from metal was too cheap to dispose of radioactive metal safely. I'm scared I'll die of radiation poisoning if I touch metal and every time I accidently touch metal I feel like throwing up and my hands get tingly and I get dizzy until I wash my hands and I don't know what to do!! I don't have OCD btw I just have Depression, generalized anxiety, and BPD.

Actually, based upon the fear of metal you've described it sounds like you might have OCD. Are you seeing a pdoc?
Thanks for this!

no one here can diagnose you, only offer support

maybe I am about to offer a crazy solution, but it's a solution all the same.

perhaps you can wear something over your hands (such as strong gloves?)

when you touch the metal, it won't actually be your physical hand touching it.

or rather, because you're wearing the gloves, what ever you fear from the metal can't get to your hands because you are wearing the gloves

Well, we can't diagnose, but some of us have decades of experience and when you see a horse-like animal with black and white stripes and call if a 'zebra'......
