I'm wondering if anyone could suggest a stress toy for compulsive skin picking. I've been browsing a few shops online but there's so many types of fidget toys and I'm sure I'm looking for something pretty specific.
The closest thing I could find is those stress balls that have a second layer that pops out of holes on it. My dermatillomania mostly focuses on pimples and it's a unique sensation, the give and then the "pop". Seeing something come out is a big part of the satisfaction I derive from it, so that kind of stress ball seems a step in the right direction.

Has anyone had success using a specific toy to curb the impulse to pick?

Maybe try Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty? You can actually make an air pocket inside of it and pop it I believe.
Thanks for this!

I don't even know what dermatillomania is (so could probably be way off suggesting this)

but for anxiety, I like to use square blocks attached to a string which you can fidget with- and they make a cool sound when you do it

I've found stress balls useless because all I really do is use 1 hand to play with it, then the other to shake or bite nails, what ever.
Thanks for this!

I've yet to purchase anything for fidgeting and whatnot - but from what I understand the most popular thing on the market is this thing called a Tangles.

(This is not an advertisement for this site, but there's literally so many kinds of them!!)
