I have contamination OCD. I have tried drugs - didn't work. Therapy - worked for a while now not working.

My son caught ringworm. Of course I've been the one that's had to treat it. Twice a day everyday putting cream on these sores. Now I caught it. I'm going out of my mind. I just don't know if it's worth it anymore to keep living with this. My brain seems determined to destroy me, and I'm feeling like just giving in and destroying myself.

Thank you. Luckily I have a psychiatrist appointment on Saturday. I'm barely hanging on but hopefully can get to Saturday. Maybe a new med would help. I've been having panic attacks since this started and I think that the constant adrenaline is wearing me down.

What an awful thing to go through! I am going through Hell with my OCD, too (trying an old med again with other meds I'm on, but still at a low dose, so I don't know how well it will work yet). I hope your psychiatrist can help you.

If you don't mind me asking, what med are you retrying? I'm on Fluvoxamine and at 300 mg it really doesn't seem to be helping.
Thanks for this!

I'm back on Paxil. I'm on 40 mg. So far, my anxiety is less, but I don't know if it's the, Paxil or the other drugs (Xanax and Prozac), because I missed a couple of days recently.
