What do you all do to help your trichotillomania?
Mine is either random or caused by anxiety and other issues I deal with, so I am trying to figure out ways not to pull out my hair, because I am afraid I will go bald and its not a pleasant thing really.

Hey there. What is a good coping mechanism for me might not be the same for you. I only pull from the back of my head because when I started at a very young age I would pull from the middle of my head and thankfully my mom curved that. So, what I do is I keep the back of my head very short or atleast short enough where I can't wrap it around my fingers to pull out.
I have found that if you explain your Trich to a hair dresser & tell them where you pull the most from they will be very understanding and will do the best they can at making it difficult to pull it. |

I put my hair in a ponytail and put a big hair band over it that covers all the showing hair so I can't get to it. I am very worried. I have lost a little over half of my hair. The very top of my hair is gone, and some from the back, but I can hide it easily with a ponytail and hair band. I desperately need help.
