Hi everyone,
Yesterday my psychiatrist diagnosed as having possible OCD. I have an obsession about my loved ones dying in a car accident. I am a preschool teacher and I am constantly worried about losing a student. I don't really have any compulsions except constantly counting kids at work. All these obsessions have made life rather difficult. My psychiatrist has started to prescribe me high doses of Prozac, which I hope helps. |

From what you wrote, this sounds something like what is sometimes referred to as "Pure O". As I understand it that's not a term one would find in the DSM. But it is a term that is used to describe a type of OCD where there are obsessive thoughts but no compulsions. Family therapist Kati Morton unloaded a video on the subject of Pure O onto her YouTube channel a while back. Here's a link to that video:
