The only problem is that, I hate kids. I hate how loud and obnoxious they are. I stopped wanting kids in middle school and I seriously never wish to have any (not that my body dysphoria would let me anyway)I only masturbate to adults but I keep getting thoughts that I may actually just be a pedophile, I always watch my behavior around kids to make sure I'm not doing anything inappropriate while I don't like kids I also don't want to harm them, and these thoughts don't even arose me! They only feel disturbing and it's not like I think about this 24/7 but it's just enough to get in the way of my enjoyment of leaving the house. Is there a way to get rid of these thoughts? Or am I stuck with them...

Doesn't sound like you're a pedophile to me. Perhaps a therapist would be the best person to talk to about how to get rid of those upsetting concerns.

I agree, it doesn't sound like you're a pedophile to me, but it's better to discuss this with a professional

Well... I have boatloads of disturbing thoughts. (I'll spare you the details!)
![]() ![]() Family therapist, Kati Morton, has a video on her YouTube channel on the subject of Pure O. Here's a link to that video: You asked if there's a way to get rid of these thoughts or if you're just stuck with them. I think the general consensus of opinion is that trying to block or somehow get rid of disturbing thoughts just makes them keep coming back. ![]() https://mindsetdoc.wordpress.com/201...e-abiding-101/ Also... here are links to some articles, from PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of how to deal with stuck thoughts: https://psychcentral.com/blog/9-ways...tuck-thoughts/ https://psychcentral.com/blog/how-to...sive-thoughts/ https://blogs.psychcentral.com/relat...-and-thoughts/ https://blogs.psychcentral.com/dbt/2...sive-thoughts/ I wish you well... ![]()

Sounds like Pure O to me, too. First clue? You don't masturbate to fantasies of children. And even if you did, but don't act on it, it doesn't mean your a pedo.

Sounds almost like an OCD thing to me. I'd say it's best to get help with a professional. You'd know if you were a danger to children, and if you feel like you are then again get some help. I'm sure you're okay, but to get these thoughts out you might need some extra help. ^_^ Good luck!

Yeah, you're not a pedophile. Even if you were a pedophile, it is not actually illegal. What becomes illegal is when you become a child molester or you are viewing child pornography. I highly recommend a therapist to work you through your OCD like thoughts.
