I am not exactly sure whether I have OCD or not...To tell the truth, I had not even considered that I may have it until a friend mentioned it to me.
I'm not sure if I have OCD because I am sometimes really messy, but then when I start cleaning I can't have anything out of place... Everything has to be neat and aesthetic. When I'm really, really anxious, I tend to straighten and line things up alot... I count a lot often too. I tend to count my steps as I walk, but it's sometimes conscious and sometimes unconsciously. As for weird thoughts...I have a lot. Whenever I leave the house, I catch myself wondering if we'll get into a car accident, and when I hang up on a phone conversation, I think "What if they get into an accident and die after this phone call?" If someone doesn't pick up, I absently think "Maybe they died..." or something along those lines. I never act upon these thoughts, but are they weird? |

It sounds like OCD. But just having symptoms don't really constitute a diagnosis unless the symptoms impair social, school or occupational functioning or cause the person extreme distress.
Do these thoughts and behaviors get in the way of your job or your relationships? Have you ever lost a job because of them? Have you been dumped by friends or lovers directly because of them? Do you avoid relationships because of this? Are you homebound because of them? Or are you really, really upset by these thoughts and behaviors? If you can say no to all of the above, I'd really not worry about it. It's OK to be quirky. As long as your quirkiness doesn’t hurt you or anybody else, it should not be something to obsess about ![]() |

I agree with Lbien, you do seem to be showing symptoms of ocd but we cant diagnose you here however if this is interfering with your life then maybe you should see someone for it. The symptoms acting up more when you are anxious makes sense because ocd is an anxiety based disorder so symptoms will show more the more anxiety you have. ![]()
