I really believe that living here in Utah is messing with me. I think that the dominate religion here and their feeling of being superior is really what is messing with me. Everywhere I go I feel like I am being judged and need to have this perfect life that is so unattainable.

Hi alindixon, okay, so maybe they think they are superior or perfection is at the top of their list but seems like you know better. We all live in an imperfect world which abounds with imperfections. We all have scars, warts, and blemishes of some kind. I've never met a perfect person yet. I'm sure some mad scientist would just love to create one and clone it.
![]() Live your life the best you can and try not to measure yourself by the standards of others. Set your own standard for your life and your family. Many a person has suffered emotionally because of religious dogma. I believe a person has the right to choose whether or not to belong to a religious group, and not feel they have to because that is what their parents chose for them. It may work for them but it may not work for you. I'll get off the ![]() ![]() |

I have the same problem in utah. I used to be an outgoing open minded person, I could smile and joke around and be myself, but since I have lived here I have become a recluse anti-social paranoid cynical person. I feel like hiding most of the time. Im glad to know someone else feels the way I do. When I try to explain this to non-utahns they don't understand the high expectations and standards utahns must achieve in order to be accepted. |
