and you can haev more than one.....just describe it and how you felt........and the atmosphere that surrounded that particular music....1. Janis Ian in "The Backyard" in Austin, Texas..tons of women there...2. Joe Cocker at "Starplex" in Dallas, Texas..when he sang "you can keep your hat on" all the middle aged women took our shirts off and kept our hats on.(camisole underneath) 3. Steve Martin's very first tour, at OU, playing his banjo while he had "happy feet"...and people were literally laughing so hard that we couldn't hear what he was saying....2. Lyle Lovett, in Santa Fe, and he left the stage and refused to come back out til everyone quit smoking pot.....

Well, since I've never been to one, except being forced by my grade school teacher to attend the Charleston Symphony Orchestra... Believe me, I was not amused. Your Favourite Concert~~~~~~~~~~

I keep hoping I'll get to go to a good one someday and I'll keep checking back to read about other people's great times.

Oh this is hard because i go to a concert most weeks...even though they are only little local ones.

I think my favourite would have to be Blink 182 in Glasgow SECC on the 1st of Dec 2004, because i have waited to see them since 2000 and i absolutely love them so much and i was just so excited and there was just an awesome atmosphere.

Also other favourites include, Taking Back Sunday(7th June 04 Glasgow QMU + 10th June Manchester Academy), New Found Glory(sometime last year at Glasgow Barrowlands) ...there are too many to name actually. So i'm going to stop there.

1) Ozzy Osbourne at Starplex in Dallas - When he sang "Road to Nowhere" and "Goodbye to Romance" the music and his voice was so intense the whole place was completely still... it felt like time had stopped. Amazing performance.

2) The Moody Blues with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at Starplex - "Isn't love Strange"... again the volume and intensity was unreal.

3) Rockfest '97 at the Texas Motor Speedway - Counting Crows came on as sun was perfectly setting and they played Round Here... I was holding hands with my girl friend (that was one of our fav songs) and I got a nasty case of the chills. Summer love, 18, great music, and a perfect summer day... what could be better? Almost like perfect peace.

Ok, so obviously my music is very special to me. Sorry if this seems silly, but hey, it's who I am.

this is very good.......it sorta transports us back to that very moment.....the loudness, the crowds, the stillness when the songs really sang to our hearts........p

Brooks and Dunn ... both times I've seen them!

First time I saw them, they had Montgomery Gentry, Toby Keith and someone else (don't remember who...grrr). Second time, they had Chris Cagle (drool) Trick Pony and Dwight Yoakum. Both times, Cletis T. Judd was the "emcee"...kept the crowd in stitches!

Oh yeah, Lenny Kravitz rocked too! and Faith Hill/Tim McGraw was awesome too!

(The country concerts are BY FAR my faves, 'cept for Lenny cuz he is my idol....chick drummer Your Favourite Concert~~~~~~~~~~)

I haven't really seen much of anything for concerts beyond those at a county fair. The last thing I saw was Denny Diamond, who does tribute music of Neil Diamond. He's rather good, actually! I'll see him again when I can. He tours around mostly the midwest, I think. I recommend seeing his show if you ever get a chance. He has a website and you can check his schedule there.

I think I'm entering a whole new genre here...

I have to say my favorite concert was Godsmack with Staind and Cold opening, that was April 01 at UIC pavillion in Chicago. Awesome. I was so moved when Aaron Lewis (Staind) sang "Outside" live onstage, he was all alone Your Favourite Concert~~~~~~~~~~ and he actually cried. It was extremely cool. It's strange how we can be transported back. That's one of my "biggie" memories-- my husband and I took my mom and my stepdad, this was 2 months before he died suddenly, so it's special to both of us, my stepdad was my husband's best friend. It was great(even if the female parent was present)

Now I feel silly.

Oh Golly...Tom Petty opening his tour supporting his Echo album in Grand Rapids...Bob Dylan with the Bryan Setzer Orchestra, also in Grand Rapids--what a mixed crowd, folks from Dylans era and a bunch of young new swing dancer kids...many many Jimmy Buffett concerts at Riverbend in Cincinnati....John Mellencamp, the MAN CAN ROCK!, with Lucinda Williams opening up for him.....James Taylor...OMG, can't forget Bruce! Saw him twice in one year.

Probably one of the most fun was when a whole bunch of us college aged folks went to see the B-52s with the Violent Femmes opening at an outdoor venue. We had an absolute blast! Danced and danced and danced! I think I was wearing some funky hat, dangly earrings, a big men's shirt and tie with black leggings..very 80's chic.

Fun thread

I used to work at the Pontiac Silverdome, so whenever there was a concert, I got to see it free!

Guns N Roses w/Metallica - Metallica rocked the house
Rolling Stones - Beast of Burden really reached out and grabbed me; Brown Sugar was a great encore

Billy Joel/Elton John - didn't see much, was supervising that night, but it sounded great

Pink Floyd - *no comment necessary*

There are others, I'm sure, but those are the ones that suck out in my jumbled little head

I also saw Page & Plant in '95 - still get goose bumps when I think of the 25-min encore version of Kashmir. They had a full Egyptian ensemble, and the guy who played the (i think it was) fiddle during that encore put me in a trance. He was playing his butt off!!
