It is surely a blessing that dreams do not instantly come true. For if your dreams were to immediately be fulfilled, you would never have the pleasure of dreaming them. The anticipation of an achievement is an important part of the value of that achievement. Having something to look forward to gives enormous richness to life. (Oh, blessed anticipation!! Toward your dream )

It is good to achieve your dreams, and yet it is also good to hold on to them, to nurture, refine and appreciate them before they have been reached. In so doing, by the time the dream is achieved, it has developed a real and profound meaning.

Working toward a goal is what makes that goal worth having. The fact that a dream has not yet been fully realized is what makes that dream so enticingly desirable.

Go ahead and dream big, wonderful, positive and intimately meaningful dreams. For they're the ones that will get you to move diligently and persistently forward.

Your dreams will not come true in an instant, yet they can instantly begin to provide focus, direction, and a driving force. You can then enjoy each and every moment as you steadily bring those dreams to life.

-- Ralph Marston

Thanks again. This take this view and apply it to my therapy. Healing is a goal to work towards and a long road but when I get there I will be so much better off for having done it and I will have such a proud feeling for reaching that goal. Thank you September.

{{{{{{{{{{{{Ryan}}}}}}}}}}}} I wish you exquisit anticipation, flowers on the side of your road and delicious fulfillment of your dreams. You certainly work hard enough at it by staying possitive, cheerful and so supportive of everyone.

You're both wrong, Ry is MINE!!! Toward your dream

Sept, I love these posts you make. This one's really good. Makes you stop and have a little more patience when wanting something ie: healing. Sometimes the journey is just as important as the destination. Now, you'll probably have to remind me of that a million times. Toward your dream

Has anyone noticed the "between the lines" here? I was just re-reading and I noticed that this statement is incomplete. Learning was left out. I think the enjoyment of that journey and the anticipation is only half of what should be appreciated. We are all better and wiser people for the journeys we make in life... both on the small scale goals and in the grand scheme of things. In every journey to every goal, there is at least one life lesson to be learned... and these lessons should be cherished. With knowledge comes understanding and understanding makes healing all that much easier. We should all enjoy the journey and the anticipation but we should never turn our backs on the lessons that life tries to teach us... be they good or bad. Just a thought. Maybe it's silly.

No, its a good idea Ryan. I consider myself a lifelong learner...it's important to learn something new every day.
