Ok, so I did an update recently to say how much I am enjoying my new job. Yup! I have just done a four day stint, long hours I can tell ya! Very tired!
Anyway, I was expecting to be shadowing for a couple more weeks and I did wonder why my colleague spent all day testing me on Saturday. When I turned up to work yesterday I wondered where the boss was? YOU are the boss they said! I guess they didn't want me worrying about it. It went brilliantly. Apart from the fact that I had to get an agency nurse to do the night shift, it all went very, very well.  I'm real tired right now but I'm so proud I managed to do it. All the care assistants under me knew what they needed to do, I helped of course. Nothing went wrong, gosh I never knew I would be capable of managing. And THIS is my job, I love it! Need to go to bed soon!

Thank you!  I have a few days off now and then off on a training course on Thursday and then I'll be there doing it all over again.

Peg, have a question for you: are you in the UK? If so, what would a person who described his occupation as a "medic" have done as far as routine responsiblities there? If you are not in the UK, then  nevermind.
