Inky, I think I'll refrain from making any comment about the guy's hands. Anybody ever met somebody they met online IRL?

WOW Ray, 6 years is a long time to wait to meet someone IRL. I guess you wanted to really feel comfortable with him first. I guess that's probably the wisest thing to do. GL when you meet him.

Yea, a couple of diff site that I've gone too, a bunch would all meet up together. Quite a few got to know each other. Unfortunately I didn't have the finances to fly all over the place so I never got involved with any of that but I know they all had a great time. Of course, there's always going to be some people who don't quite get along or are diff IRL than what they are online.

So much is made about safety but what's the diff if you meet somebody at the public library compared to online. Sure you can actually see the person at the library but you know absolutely nothing about their background so you really don't know who they are either.

You're assuming I'm talking about a guy. I'm talking about a girl I've met on another site.

I've met three guys IRL from chat at Yahoo over the past three years...two of them I wound up dating, one for three months and the other was my ex of 16 months.

The first guy, things were great in the beginning, but he failed to mention the ex-wife was a royal PITA, of whom he never got over, and always put her before me (BIG NO-NO in my book; if you are dating me, I come first over other women that aren't family). Made that one take a nosedive real quick. He and I remain friends still, but it took a while for the anger to subside on my part to allow him that opportunity.

My ex and I were in the same Michigan chat room on Yahoo, and someone called out to do a location check, and he answered the same as where I live. Thru private chat, he and I discovered I only lived 1.5 miles away. After a week or so of chatting one on one, he 'dared' me to meet him at his house, gave me his address...and two days later is when our relationship began.

He and I are working things out (to get back together because we still love each other very much and we did have a good relationship minus the BP) and just the other night we were laughing about his "dare".

The third experience was just about a month ago, and this guy has more issues than National Geographic!! So, needless to say, he went buh-bye.

All in all, I have had fairly positive experiences in my IRL meetings. I only agree to it if I feel comfortable, and if I don't, we either talk more in chat, or go our separate ways before even meeting.

Hugz and Love,
Jenn

*****^^^^Thanks Ry. Yea, I have found someone REAL special. Thanks for being happy for me. I didn't think this was gonna happen cuz I thought I'd built strong fortress walls around me but damn, he just broke those walls down before I realized it was even happening. I hope he feels the same for me as I do for him. Thanks for the well wishes, I do feel blessed to have him in my life, very blessed, he's such a great guy. I've met people from the net, mostly people that live here in Ontario.
One person from Noth Carolina, but I was on vacation when I did and with people.

I wouldn't do it now, but I however did meet my current boyfriend, which I am embarrassed to tell people.

I met another ex (sorta) online, and met him with a friend, the other one was a married couple with a baby, and my whole family was around.

I think friendships can be made, but you have to be extremely cautious as there are alot of people that are looking for prey.

If I knew now what I do about the internet i'd never have met up with anyone.
