Thanks ! I have a wonderful Mother and cherish each day with her. She lives in an "in-law-suite" we added to our home in 2002, to help her with my ailing Dad. We lost Dad in 2003 , but are blessed to have Mom with us. She isnt well right now, having tests on Tuesday to determine if she has pancreatic cancer. This makes my heart hurt.

I am also a proud Mother of 2, and feel blessed to have my sons nearby.

I am sorry for those of you who did not have good relationships with your Mothers, and who are hurting today.

I'm so glad you have your Mom and your children. Your relationships are rich with love, and nothing could be better.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your father and am praying for your Mom.

I worship the ground my mother walks on. Her passion for her family is unrivaled. Never have I known someone with such loving fire in her eyes. She's been right there by side through all my troubles and successes. She picks me up when I fall. She heals my heart when it's broken. She deserves this day.

Thanks Jan!!!!

This is great. So far today, I have had a good day. I got a plant and cards. My son made me a bowl in art class. It matches the one he made last year. I love it. I saw my mother today. She came over to hang out for a while. So that was good as well.

I have too a wonderful mom, a real friend, someone I can talk to. She's there when I need her. She's gentle and careful with other people. She's the best.

I have an awesome mom that I can talk to about almost anything...(my sex life is something I keep to myself). I got her two anklets cuz that's what she said she wanted. I love her so very much and there aren't words to say how much I love her. I am also close to my Grandma and we went out to lunch today with my dad and mom. We ate at this awesome Italian resturant and I got to have Shrimp Scampi and my mom and I shared it.

Well my experience today was different . LOL. Went to the nursing home to see my dad and there was a lady passing out these ribbons
" SPECIAL MOMS" She asked me if I was a mother and I said no I dont have any kids. She looked on my dads bed and there was my dog. LOL She said is that your puppy? I said well yeah and she said then your a mommy then lol. Needless to say I ended up with a ribbon on my blouse lol . But yet it was kinda cool too! Guess I enjoyed it.

Thanks for letting me share!

Hi all,
I am a mommy to 2 kitties, 1 parakeet, 4 fish, and a desert tortoise. Had been having a wonderful day when I got a phone call from my sister telling me that my Mom was being taken to the hospital for possibly having a heart attack. I guess women don't have the "traditional" symptoms all the time and she was experiencing all of the classic "women" ones. At 1:30 this morning I received another call from my sis telling me that preliminarily it has been determined that Mommy did NOT have a heart attack; however, they still want to do more tests.....My mom HATES the hospital. She contracted STAPH on one of her visits there a couple of years ago and once again it was "awakened" last year when she had to go in for rotator cuff surgery. The STAPH destroyed what was left of her rotator cuff so she is worse than when she went in. That and the fact that she almost died from the infection makes the hospital NOT a place we want to see her in. Terry and I already have plans to go to visit (this will be the first time he's met my mom) in 2 weeks. Please pray for my Mom to NOT have had a heart attack and if she has actually had one for the strength to recover from it. She is one tough cookie but each time something happens to her health I fear for her. (she has had a rough go of it for about the last 20 years)Somehow she "just does it" no matter what but I am afraid she's going to get so tired that she gives in.....I live 3000 miles away from my mom but the physical distance does not change the fact that she is and has been my "rock". I lost my dad last year and hate the thought of losing her....I know it is eventually going to happen but.....

Anyway thanks for the sounding board....

Tooter (Pam)
