I found out last night that the regular Campbell's soup like the Chicken Noodle Soup etc. has MSG in it. I ate some Veggie Orzo soup and had a violent allergic reaction to it and found out it had MSG in and checked my other cans of Campbell's soup and found they too have MSG in them.

I have emailed Campbell's to have them put in large letters on their cans that it has MSG in it because I know there are a lot of people that MSG gives them problems.

Just an FYI for those of you that MSG gives you problems.

I always look at all the labels before buying anything....takes me hours to shop in the store when I am just going out shoping & not just picking up a few necessities.....I noticed that the soups have MSG in them except for the boxed Campbell soup which is a wonderful tomato, the butternut squash, & the corn.....the other thing I noteced is that there aren't any BBQ potato chips that don't have MSG...not one brand...problem is that I love BBQ potato chips.

Another interesting correlation I think I found.....I love the honey mustard pretzel chips that are packed with flavor also packed with sodium......I have had a craving for that flavor so I hav been eating nothing but those chops for my snacks....very salty.....I went into my pain specialist last week & my blood pressure was sky high.....it's always very low.....think I just realized the correlation batween the salt I have been inhaling & the blood pressure.....know what I am going to be cutting out of my diet the next 2 months....just to see i I'm right about the salt.

Amazing how much we are what we eat.

Thanks for the MSG warning,
Debbie

THANK YOU SO MUCH, JBUG!

This is a big deal. People who are taking MAOI inhibitors, like Nardil or Parnate, as an antidepressant need to know this. MSG is dangerous for them. It can cause a hypertensive crisis.

it'd be nice if there was a list out there for the products that don't have MSG in them, I'm not allergic to it, but it's not exactly good for you so it'd probably be best to limit the intake...

I have a severe MSG allergy too and canned soups are one of the most annoying things to try to find, if I'm looking for something more exciting than plain old tomato. Campbells has a line called Select Harvest and all of those are MSG-free, even says so on the front of the can. Not a TON of choices, but the New England clam chowder is pretty good. The "cream-of's" seem to be always loaded with MSG and I was thrilled to find it.

Thanks for this Frayed...I was wondering from the commercial on T.V. since it said all natural if it really meant all natural. I will have to have my mom go get me some because my GP today told me it does sound like I have the flu.
