My 8 1/2 month pregnant daughter-in-law and 17 mo. old grandson were hit at about 60 miles an hour waiting to turn left. Someone coming from her left, did not see the stop sign. The impact was to the front drivers side. (Police listed their almost new 4-runner as totalled) Air bags deployed , and she thought she and Jordan were OK - but after things calmed down - she realized the baby had not moved since the wreck. Son took her to UVA, and I have not heard anything yet........and I am NOT a good "waiter"!! This pregnancy has had many problems, and I sure hope she and the baby are OK. Son said she was developing some serious bruises on her chest and knees as they were enroute to the hospital. Hubby is sick in bed, and I am so torn.........where should I be??? I guess sitting here waiting for a phone call is best.............once again, for those who pray, please say one for my unborn granddaughter !!!! Thanks !!!!

You're in my thoughts. UVA is a good place to be. It's an excellent facility. Thinking of you.

Parker,

Consider it done. If it helps any at all, UVA is an excellent facility. Stay by the phone and let us know as soon as you hear anything.

Many, many hugs,

Jan

Thanks all. D-in-law has serious knee injury, and bruising, baby started moving alot enroute and heart tones were good. D-in-law will stay in hospital for awhile, perhaps until baby is born, they are awaiting some tests results this AM. (Son so exhausted when he tried to explain , nothing made sense to him or to me) I am headed to UVA shortly to see them. Jordan was released last night (this morn - not sure what time) and other Grandma went and got him. UVA is definitely the place to be ! Thanks again for your kind words and prayers.

Thanks again for your kindness ! D-i-L was released yesterday evening - to be on strict bedrest (HA ! SHe will NOT listen - as she was supposed to have been on it for last month but continued to work). She is horribly sore, her knee was X-rayed. After seeing the vehicle - and actually getting the story straight - she is one very lucky gal ! It turns out that she was driving straight at about 55 mph - someone ran stop sign, and d-i-l T-boned them. The other vehicle was a Surburban - and totally unrecognizable ! They still have not found all the parts to it in the field where the vehicles ended up ! She and my son have 3 other vehicles, NONE of which can you put a child safety seat in........so they have a totally paid for (insurance) totalled almost new vehicle at the junk yard, and no way to transport Jordan ! Hopefully they can get a new vehicle today - son thinks a Hummer would be a good idea (d-i-l has had 3 wrecks in 4 years - I didnt know that !!!!) - but they will get another 4 Runner I am sure. Sheesh - what a weekend !

Again, thanks for your kind words and prayers, and comfort in chat.

I have a really hardheaded d-i-l - she went to work yesterday !!!!!!!!!!! And she stands all day at her work. I think she wants to deliver early as Jordan was over 10 lbs. She might be a tough cookie right now, but when in labor with Jordan, we understand she screamed the entire time - even with an epidural ! I am taking some big heavy tape to the delivery to tape her mouth shut ! LOL !!!!!! Somehow screaming just does not relieve the pain of childbirth ! Again, thanks for your kind words and support !
