I got some great news today...my mare is pregnant again...about 50 days along.....lets see, that is about 1 1/2 months out of 11, so she is due in Feb 2006.....couldn't be better timing since Dec, Jan, Feb will be a year from the time I was taking care of my Mother, dealing with the trauma, was really ill myself, & then my Mother died. I will have something really important to have to focus on & hopefully I will get through that time without being haunted by too many memories.

My mare requires a great deal of care towards the end of her pregnancy since she miscarried 2 out of 3 of her first foals...& the 3rd had to be put to sleep after a leg infection caused the leg bone to separate from the hoof. The memories of those past losses make me very cautious to get overly confident about the outcome, but I still want to be excited about it.

Issabelle will have a brother or sister...tempting to keep this one...if a male....will have a great stallion....if a female, then will have another breeding mare. When the vet was out today, we showed him Issabelle...he was the one that kept telling me 5 more weeks about 3 times before she was born....I have had another vet caring for her, so he hasn't seen her...he thought she was over a year old at only 8 months....my trainer has told me that I must never let her know that she is bigger than me. That is going to a tough job since she is now looming over me & I can barely get my arms over her back...she has just had a huge growing spurt & is almost as big as the 3 yr olds she is in with...they are teaching her all their 3 yr old bad habbits. Luckily, she still comes to me when I call & gives me kisses. Looking forward to having another if everything goes well.

Debbie
