I haven't seen this program yet...but saw the previews. I love ballroom dancing. While I was working about 15 yrs ago, we had a ballroom dancing club with a professional dance teacher each week & a room we could practice in at lunch time. During that time I decided to take private instructions from a dance studio & was so jazzed by having a professional dancer as teacher & being a professional, could lead so well, it just made the dancing just flow out of me. I never did go into competition but got good enough to do it.

I was married to a real clutz that has two left feet & no sense of rhythm, so I could only dance with guys that I knew which limited things....it was frustrating to be so much better than the people I knew & could only dance with experienced guys....otherwise, I found myself doing the leading....not a good place to be as a female. My favorite dance was the tango.

I will have to put this program into my list of must sees.....thanks for reminding me of it.

Debbie

Yes, I've seen it. I am amazed at how dead on his feet the boxer is, compared to Cassius Clay... he must be solid muscle!

I can't imagine how hard these couples have worked to learn a whole new dance each week. I think it's good that the show is increasing the interest in real dancing though.

i felt sorry for the boxer. he was so gracious and pleasant AND wanted to win..but, his footwork did him in. or lack of.....and i really liked his partner. she was very good. oh well, we'll just have to see how it goes. the model, Rachel, and the actor, John, are my favourites.

Is John the distinguised grey=haired guy? He seems to have a real "presence" and though not excellent (how can any of them be?) he adds some nice touches... flare?

yes, the one with "flair" is an actor. he was on Seinfeld, as Elaine's boss.......he can cover his lack of "expertise" with his "presence"...i wish they all wore the flowing dresses, as his partner did. that dress was wonderful!
